Which may not seem too exciting except...

More on our new piece of the rock, moving, and cruising to Bermuda to come, but for now, there's paint to be pealed off my body, feet to be rubbed, a sweet baby girl to be cuddled and a pillow to be drooled on.

We are lucky, lucky ducks.

What's in Your Diaper Bag???

This is our diaper bag.

It's the LeSportsac Ryan Bag in Zoo.  Madeline's Great Grandpa gave it to us, and we love it!

First off, it's adorable.  I love the little giraffes and elephants giving one another love.  Secondly, I like that's it's gender neutral so Eric doesn't feel too silly carrying it around.  It's roomy enough for all our stuff...and boy, do we have a lot of stuff.  It's easy to clean, which I've learned the hard way after many a bottle leak.  And, in spite of the hard living it endures, it still looks brand new eleven months later.

And this is what's in our diaper bag...

1.) Diaper Changing Supplies

• The Changing Pad that came with the bag
• Diaper Wipes Case so I don't have to lug around a huge vat of wipes
• Diapers (for obvious reasons.)  
• Diaper disposal bags in case we don't have a trash bin handy, or if I don't feel comfortable leaving a stinky diaper behind for other people to enjoy. 

2.) Toys (A.K.A. Keep-Madeline-distracted-so-we-can-eat-lunch supplies!)

• Books keep Madeline engaged for the longest period of time because there's so many different     things she can do with them.  "Read" them, throw them, flip through the pages, kiss them, use them as hats...
•  Rattles -There's a reason people make rattles for babies. She can chew em, bang em, wave em.  

3.) Protective Gear

• Sunscreen - My child is a ginger baby.  Enough said.  
• Bug Spray
• Purell 

4.) Hat

• My child is a ginger baby.  Enough said.  

5.) Snacks (A.K.A. Keep-Madeline-distracted-so-we-can-eat-lunch supplies!) 

• At the moment we have Cheerios and Baby Mum-Mums in the bag.  As long as it's dry, not too messy, and easy for Madeline to feed herself it's good.  

6.) Pacifier 

• Madeline usually only takes her pacifier when she's going down to sleep, but it helps if she gets fussy during long car rides as well. 

7.) Mumma's Gear

• I usually keep my things in her bag because I very rarely go out without her these days.  I keep everything in a small clutch, or simple wallet, so that it fits easily in her bag, but I can still find all my stuff easily.   

Other common products found in our bag:

•    Bibs
•    Lunch box with bottles and food 
•    Blanket
•    Baby sweatshirt in case it gets cold  
•    Change of baby clothes  

There's no such thing as traveling light when you have a baby!

So...48 Weeks?

Today is supposed to be Madeline's second to last bunny picture....

But...

I packed her bunny in a box labelled "M's room: Toys." There are like four of those boxes.

Also? We're currently floating about in the Atlantic Ocean on our way to Bermuda. So, yeah...

No bunny picture today. Epic sad face???

As soon as the movers finish doing their thang, I'm finding that bunny!

A week from today we close on the house!  (Eek! Squeal!)

Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.

She will be mine.  Oh yes, she will be mine.

Dancing with Madeline

Madeline was in a very cuddly mood this morning before her nap.  Nap?  But it's only 9 AM!

True.  But, when you wake up at 5 AM, nine is really midday.

I had Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros playing in the background as we pack, so Madeline and I started dancing to the music like we used to when she was a tiny little baby.

Part of her baby brain must still remember dancing to sleep with Mumma because she was out like a light.

March for Babies Shout Out

This is Madeline's Nana.  She rocks for many reasons.

She also just happens to be the top walker for our local March for Babies!  Yup, the TOP!

She got a ribbon and everything to prove it!  She also won Red Sox tickets. Hizz-ah! Plus? they sent me a pretty sweet water bottle in the mail today.  I was super excited!

47 Weeks

Poor Madeline is covered in little bumps and bruises this week because...she's standing on her own now!  Of course this good news also means she's been taking a lot of spills.

This makes her Mumma nervous at times.  We were in her room packing up boxes yesterday, and before I knew it, she had climbed on top of a box of clothes, stood up on her own, and reached for her crib. Yikes.

She's getting into everything!  It's probably good that most of our things are in boxes at the moment.  It means at least she can't rip everything apart.

Madeline is really learning the meaning and cruelty of the word, "No" this week.  If she wants something she can't have, she screams!  This morning, she really, really wanted a pile of important paperwork sitting on a shelf.  It was just out of reach, and I wouldn't get it for her.  Mini. temper. tantrum!

Eric just shakes his head and asks sarcastically, "Where does she get that from?"  

Her early intervention teacher came yesterday, and she kept commenting on how smart Madeline is.  (I always knew she was a genius.)  Her teacher brought a bunch of baby puzzles with her, and Maddie was fascinated with trying to figure them out.  We're going to have to go get her some more complicated toys.  Her teacher recommended some great ones for us.

Maddie is also learning the meaning of "In" and "Out" with Dada.  She likes to take all her toys and place them in her bucket.  Then she takes them out.  She even says the word "out."

She's been eating and sleeping a lot this week, which makes me think she may be growth spurting.  Suddenly she's sooooooo tall.  She's like a little bean poll with a baby face.  She's so long and thin.

Her favorite food seems to be grilled cheese.  I break it up into bite-sized pieces for her and she gobbles it all up.  I like to put veggies like spinach in it for her as well.  She also loves her chicken-peach puree, turkey loaf, chopped up veggies, and melon.  Sometimes she loves scrambled egg yolks, and sometimes she doesn't want anything to do with them.  She does not like yogurt, but I bet if I bought the pre-sweetened baby kind she would like it.  The only thing I've given her that she absolutely refused to eat was tuna fish.  Oh well.

Madeline has an exciting couple of weeks coming up ahead of her.  She's got the cruise, moving madness, and of course...her first birthday is a little over a month away!!!!!
