Last week Eric began an epic adventure taking his father's boat from Montauk, NY up the Hudson River to Lake Champlain in Vermont. He's promised to write about his adventuring soon, but in the meantime, I've got more pictures than you care to look at from our time in Vermont over the weekend.

It was 98 degrees and humid in Burlington, VT on Friday. Do you know how ridiculous it is to be sweating balls in Vermont? Luckily, some storms late in the afternoon brought in cooler air. By Sunday night, we were wearing sweaters. Crazy weather.
The weekend was filled with lots of eating, a tour of the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, swimming, boat riding, some relaxing in hammocks, drinks by the lake, and walks up and down Church Street in Burlington.
Strange things seem to happen often in Vermont. For example, ferrets taking walks down main street and women walking topless through the city farmer's market.
This weekend, we added some new strange experiences to the list. First, while having dinner at my parents' cabin on Saturday night, we witnessed seven UFOs flying across the lake. I know I sound crazy, but I was not drinking, and everyone else saw them too. I have no idea what they could have been. They were not planes or jets. We thought maybe bits of meteor, but they did not have tails and flew in formation. Very strange.
Then on Sunday, we saw a man (woman?) walking down the side of the road wearing a full gorilla costume. It would be less strange if the gorilla were standing in front of a car dealership, but he was walking on a country road without any vehicle in sight. God knows how long that Gorilla had been walking, or where he was going.
Maybe it was the full moon...
